Stephen Lauder, the founder of Clover Capital has successfully built and sold many businesses since he started his first company over twenty five years ago.
Stephen Lauder is an experienced and successful Western Australian businessman, educated at Scotch College, who has been self-employed for the past 25 years. He is a self-driven person unafraid of hard work and has first-hand and comprehensive understanding of changes in business cycles and the need to constantly improve.
In 1992 Stephen founded AHS Hospitality, one of Australia’s largest providers of outsourced labour services to the Australian accommodation hotel industry. In May 2008, ANZ Private Equity purchased a majority share of AHS from Stephen. He was appointed Chairman of the group and after four years in this capacity, AHS was sold to an ASX listed company in February 2012.
Stephen has regularly featured in hotel industry publications, is a past member of “40 Under 40″ (2005) and a recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award for the Services category in Western Australia (2005).
Stephen has been a member of Young Presidents Organisation (YPO) since 2004 including the roles of Forum Moderator, New Membership and Integration Officer and WA Chapter Board Member. Within YPO, Stephen has also held the position of Mentor Program Organiser where he devised and coordinated the program for 20 YPO members to mentor up-and-coming business people in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Stephen is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD), RFBYC and Lake Karrinyup Golf Club.
Stephen is involved in many other private and public companies as an investor and advisor. His focus is now on managing Clover Capital, his private equity investment company, as well as consulting to owner operators on the structuring of their businesses and strategic planning.
